On Valluga Mountain (2,809m) you can delight in iconic descents on perfect powder snow. The route to Zürs is certainly legendary. But beware: it is only for those who have experience of the terrain and those who travel with a guide.
Rendl
There are some quieter freestyle spots to revel in freeriding on the south side of the Rendl area, such as the area around the Rendl northern slopes and the “Rendl Wild Face”. The “Rendl North Face” has an exciting terrain with adventurous routes that usually remain untouched for longer when there is fresh snowfall.
Schindlergrat
Here you will find various, mostly challenging trails, such as the Schindlerkar run and the runs towards Mattun, which are often covered in fresh powder snow. The terrain is both steep and rocky, and creates a real sense of adventure for experienced freeriders.

Wildebene
The ski tour to the Wildebene is a real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy the winter mountain world away from the hustle and bustle. This tour starts at the beginning of the picturesque Verwalltal Valley in St. Anton am Arlberg. It is the start of a challenging route that is particularly suitable for experienced ski tourers.
Hochkar
The Hochkar tour enables experienced ski tourers to enjoy a very special experience. The starting point is the mountain station for the Riffelbahn II cable car in the Rendl area. After the descent, the ascent leads over the north-east slope of the Hinterer Rendl ski run, past rock formations, across flat terrain and over steeper passages to the summit. On reaching the top, you can enjoy an impressive view of the Hoher Riffler (the tallest mountain in the Verwall Alps) and the Malfontal Valley.

Verwall cross-country ski trail (10 km)
The Verwall running and Nordic walking route branches off at the Arlbergstraße road, and you will find the start of the ski trail 200 metres away from there. The trail leads off the road through the quaint Verwalltal Valley and circles the Verwallsee lake. You can look forward to revelling in constant changes between descents and ascents.
Stanzertal Valley cross-country ski trail (22 km)
From the start of the trail, at the recycling centre in St. Anton am Arlberg, the route leads gently downhill along the Rosanna river to Flirsch and back again. The trail provides a perfect mix of sporting challenge and breathtaking nature.

Winter hiking trail gallery
At a length of around 3 kilometres, this trail can be completed in approx. 50 minutes and is ideal for a relaxed stroll. It runs parallel to the Rosannaweg path along the Rosanna river and leads to the ventilation shaft for the road tunnel, from where you can delight in discovering a particularly beautiful view of the St. Jakob district. It is also the perfect place to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of breathtaking nature.
Vadiesen winter hiking trail
The Vadiesen winter hiking trail connects the villages of St. Jakob and Pettneu am Arlberg and runs an idyllic route along the Rosanna river. At around 7 kilometres in length, this trail can be completed in approx. 2 hours and is ideal for anyone who wants to make the most of the picturesque winter panorama.
